Oral progesterone that works as well as vaginal — with less hassle.
What this medicine does
Dydrogesterone is a progesterone-like medicine. It works the same way as the progesterone your body makes naturally.
After embryo transfer or early in pregnancy, your body needs progesterone to keep the uterine lining stable and prevent the lining from shedding.
Your ovary may not make enough on its own, especially in IVF cycles. Dydrogesterone fills the gap until the placenta takes over hormone production around week 10 to 12.
Why this form suits patients
Dydrogesterone is taken by mouth. No vaginal insertion. No injection. This makes it easier and more comfortable for daily use.
Studies have shown that oral dydrogesterone works as well as vaginal progesterone for luteal support in IVF, with fewer local side effects.
Many doctors prefer dydrogesterone for patients who find vaginal medication uncomfortable or who travel during treatment.
