Why arginine is used for thin uterine lining.
What arginine actually does
L-Arginine is an amino acid your body converts into a molecule called nitric oxide.
Nitric oxide tells blood vessels to relax and open up. This means more blood, more oxygen, and more nutrients reaching every tissue.
For fertility, this matters most in the uterus and the ovaries.
Why lining thickness matters
Before embryo transfer, the uterine lining needs to grow to a certain thickness. A thicker, well-fed lining gives the embryo the best chance to settle in.
Some women have a thin lining even after hormone tablets. Their uterus does not get enough blood flow to build up the lining quickly.
Studies show that L-Arginine can help the lining grow thicker, especially in patients with thin-lining history.
Who should take this
Arginine is not for every patient. Your doctor will recommend it if you have a thin uterine lining in past cycles, or one that does not grow well on hormone tablets alone.
Or if Doppler ultrasound shows poor blood flow to the uterus.
Or if you have had previous failed implantation with a good-looking embryo.
